VIRGINIA BEACH - Lynn Dize Downing died March 25, 2009, after a brief illness. Lynn is survived by her father, Lenwood and her cousins, Marilyn, Wayne, Chelsea and Chad. She was predeceased by her long time and very beloved partner, Gerry Dorian, whom she missed everyday. Lynn was a longtime resident of Alexandria, Va., but recently returned home to Norfolk. Lynn graduated from Norview High School and obtained a psychology degree from Mary Baldwin College. She worked for more than 20 years as a manager for a telephone company. Her family will always remember her beauty, kindness and laughter and that she never met a cat she didn't like. She will be laid to rest Monday beside her dearly loved mother, Ruth. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6329 East Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, 23502. The family asks that memorial gifts be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Norfolk SPCA. Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
