Elmer Ray Barnes, 73, of Norfolk, VA, passed through the Golden Gates to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Brenda; beloved son, Curtis; his brothers, Michael and Arnold Barnes; his sister-in-law, Karen Barnes; and sister, Joan Burk. Ray was predeceased by his daughter, Donna Barnes and parents, Evelyn and Elmer Barnes.
Ray was a passionate Harley Davidson rider. He graduated from Norview High School and retired from Lucent Technologies. He was a member of Diamond Springs Disciples of Christ Christian Church. A visitation will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, 1457 Independence Blvd. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
