Walter “Wayne” Jones, 58, of Norfolk, VA, died April 23, 2004, in a Norfolk hospital. Mr. Jones was born in Norfolk, VA, and was the son of the late Walter Ralph Jones and Ophelia Miller Jones. He was an electrician at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard with 31 years of service. He was a Baptist and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by two sisters, Donna K. Davis of Norfolk, VA and Carolyn Griffin and husband James of Virginia Beach, VA; and three nephews, Relfe Davis and wife Felica of Manassas, VA, James “Jamie” Griffin and David B. Griffin, both of Virginia Beach, VA. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004, in Riverside Memorial Park by the Rev. Robert E. Jordan. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
