Orbina Wilson (King)

Orbina was and always will be a special person. We worked together at the former Tidewater Psychiatric Institute on Kempsville Rd. in Norfolk. We were both nurses. She was always calm, helpful and professional and a woman of deep inspirational faith. It was a joy to work with her. The last time I saw Orbina she had invited me to a revival on the Peninsula which my husband and I attended. She told me she had cancer in her spine. She expressed her firm
faith in God. We made arrangements to meet for lunch but she did not show and the calls were unanswered. Now I know that Heaven is a bit brighter. Thank you for your friendship and happy memories. Rest in the love of God.
We loved to talk in the morning before school would start. She was in none of my classes but what we could do before school started would fill my day with smiles. I married and moved away. I looked for her at the reunion years later but was told that she had passes. I was so sad that I did not get to see her once again.
tribute by Brenda Brown ShirahMy Aunt Orbina was extraordinary to say the least. She believed in Jesus Christ and professed him to be her savior. She served her Country in the Vietnam War. After graduating from Norview, she went on to obtain a B.S from Norfolk State University. At the end of her life she was a nurse by profession. She died of breast cancer at the age of 57, but if you were fortunate to know her, you'd remeber how she lived!! She was indeed Extraordinary!
