Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, July 30, 2004

My family moved to Norview Heights in 1953. My new neighborhood had about thirteen boys within a year of two of my age, and on my move-in day I met Jack and Bill Duren. They became my playmates and best friends.

When you see, speak, play and socialize with a person almost every day for ten years, you get to know them exceptionally well. He was intelligent, athletic, of the highest character and a great friend. We shared many adventures and great memories together. I knew Jack well and cherish every memory. Rest in peace my old friend.
