It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Overby Oakley, 78, on February 17, 2024. She was a native of Norfolk, VA, and was the daughter of the late William Stacy Overby, and Rachel Daniels Overby. She was a graduate of Norview High School Class of 1963. She was a former civil servant for the U. S. Navy, and retired in 2004. Pat was a member of River Oak Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA. Pat was the widow of James Milton Oakley, and is survived by her son, Steven Rowell of Virginia Beach, and his wife Sharri. She was preceded in death by her brother William “Bill” Overby, and her sister Treva. She is survived by her sister Sylvia Pouleris, brother Cliff Overby, and brother Harold Overby. The family would like to thank the staff at Coastal Care, LLC, and Suncrest Hospice Care for their genuine kindness and outstanding support. A memorial service will take place in Chesapeake, VA, at the H. D. Oliver funeral home (1416 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322) on March 17,2024 at 5:00 pm, with a short reception to follow.
