Mrs. Wettering was a civil service secretary for the 1st Naval Construction Division at Little Creek Amphibious Base. She was proudest of her three major goals in life, being a loving and devoted wife, mother and Nana. Shira Bea Taylor, 69, went to be with her God and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Virginia Beach, VA. Born February 2, 1945 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Blake and Edith Frances Taylor. Shira was a talented artist and enjoyed painting still-life, landscapes, and portraits. She also enjoyed the fellowship of her sisters in the faith where they would work together on crafts and projects at the First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach, where she was a member for many years. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family whom she dearly loved. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Carol Underwood Boyce, 71, passed away July 9, 2016. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Robert and Virginia Kirby Underwood; she was also preceded by her sister, Bobbie Clemmons and her husband Randy. Carol retired from Sandler Foods after 30 years of service. She loved the beach and spent much of her time there. If she wasn’t on the sand, you would find her deep in book or watching a movie. However her biggest joy in life was watching her grandson Blake play baseball. Later in life she developed a love for the Washington Nationals and never missed a game.
